How much have Malaysia spent on each student from primary school to finishing secondary school?

It takes fifteen years to train a scientist or advanced engineer starting from that young man or woman in science and mathematics in elementary school (primary school).

Malaysia is one of the few countries in the world that dedicate a huge allocation yearly on education, approximately 16% of budget yearly. That is RM52.6 Billion!

In Malaysia, each students undergoes 11 years of basic schooling from primary one to form 5. If we make a rough calculation: Rm52.6 Billion x 11 years = Rm578.6 Billion is spent for the whole basic education of one young man or woman. Our total primary and secondary students is about 4.65 million yearly.

This comes to up to be about Rm 124430.10 spent on each students on basic education!

Every students we trained in mathematics and science that we lose to other countries, we lose in monetary value terms: Rm 124430. Imagine how kind we are.

We helped Singapore, Japan, Australia etc to train their next generation of skilled workers. It doesn’t matter what race you are, in the end, the brilliant ones will be poached. The best talents will only stay here if we have a stronger and more supportive policies not just strengthening bumi but every Malaysians. Otherwise, they will go where they want. It is a globalised world!
