In an increasingly digital age, our eyes are constantly exposed to screens, artificial lighting, and various environmental stressors that can impact our vision and overall eye health. Fortunately, there are several hacks and habits that can help safeguard your vision and promote long-term eye health.
1. Follow the 20–20–20 Rule
Staring at screens for prolonged periods can strain your eyes. The 20–20–20 rule is a simple yet effective technique: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break, and focus on something at least 20 feet away. This habit helps relax eye muscles and reduce eye strain caused by continuous screen time.
2. Adjust Screen Settings
Most digital devices come with settings that can be adjusted to reduce eye strain. Opt for the “night mode” or use blue light filters to minimize the amount of blue light emitted from screens. Lowering screen brightness and increasing text size can also alleviate eye discomfort.
