Why Canceling Telekom Unifi has been the best financial decision in 2023!
Disclaimer: I have a been a user of Unifi Home for almost 30 years!
After supporting TM Unifi for so many years, it just do not make any financial sense!
Let me break it down for you:
Unifi Home 800Mbps cost RM349/month
You are not only paying for subpar speed, also subpar equipment (router they provide). On top of it, you’re forced to subscribed to their unifiTV whatever that means!
Now, when we sit down to think for a moment, we will realise that in one household, especially if we are constantly on 2.4GHz waveband Wifi connection, there is no way you can reached 800Mbps.
With 2.4Ghz waveband on most 5th and 6th generation modem router, you’d reached 300Mbps at most. That is the most ideal scenario. In summary, we should just subscribed to 300Mbps for our internet broadband plan! (to save alot of money)
Digi currently offers 300Mbps if you’re their postpaid customer for only RM100/ month. If we do a quick calculation, RM249/ month saving from switching over from TM Unifi. That is RM2988 a year! Crazy amount in this recession period!
By the way, 300 Mbps = 37.5 MB/s that is data transfer speed if you are wondering what it means. You’re not really suffering from slow badnwidth anyway!
At 2.4Ghz, 300Mbps is the maximum speed you will probably get. Unless you’re in a big family that needs alot alot of bandwidth by downgrading to 300Mbps will save you alot of money and at the same time give you the SAME experience as subscribing to 800Mbps, 1Tbps or even 2Tbps!
That is my 2 cents. Hope it helps in your journey of finding the right broadband fibre package.
